Last day filming!

Image
Today is the final editing day, as you are probably aware. We encountered a technical issue that caused our editing process to be delayed. Sadly, we had recorded too much footage, which did not correspond to the concept. We took this extra film to include new sequences, but it ran over the time limit, causing our movie to be out of sync with the storyboard. The easy alternative would be to cut these scenes, but we thought they enhanced the overall quality of our film. As a result, I offered that we delete a few pieces in order to make room for a new scenario. Our editor, Mia, agreed with my recommendation and edited footage to make room for the extra section in the final cut. Because it adds to the excitement and allows viewers to follow the happenings of the day, I wanted to keep our clips in chronological order. We ended up removing even more non-essential sequences. By dividing the editing into two days, we were able to pick the best footage and integrate it in the clearest way poss

Editing to the max!

Our filming days are behind us and now it's time to edit! We have decided to let Mia edit with the help of all of us if she needs it. She will be using IMovie because she has prior experience with it. When starting this project we changed around groupmates and lost our past editor and gained Mia. She edited her other group's work so we were confident in her ability. We have decided to use iMovie again because it is simple enough software for everyone in the group to use. Since this is longer than our previous projects (the longest one being around 1 minute long) we decided to split the process into 2 days. This will allow for more detailed work and everyone's input will be heard.  Since we filmed and refilmed certain scenes, there were almost over 80 videos to shift through and edit. Since this was an already lengthy process we decided to line everything in chronological order to help her more. This made it way easier for Mia to edit! Lucia was the biggest asset during the

The rain didn't stop us!

Our second-day filming!! The last I've spoken we had ended the filming day with all major scenes filmed and the only thing being left is the title. We decided to leave adding the title scene during the second day of filming because of time arrangements. We were rushing for some of the scenes to the second day allowed us to redo those with the same lighting and location. With this, we were also given more time to add more details to our story and production.  Being an actor I was given some directing vision in a sense. I was allowed to voice some opinions that I thought would help the film more. From the directions I would walk or what other actors could possibly say to each other. One thing we wanted to add but wasn't sure how at first was foreshadowing. We wanted to add that eerie feeling to enhance the thriller genre. I think the other actor's conversation embodied that perfectly. Another thing I loved I was able to do is improve how I moved within scenes. I spoke a lot w

Today we finally got the chance to film and it went in a different direction. Mia and I were originally going to get bus passes to be with Kai and Lucia at her house but sadly couldn't. Thankfully our friend Aidan gave us a ride since he lives close to her. After getting to Lucia's house, the two other actors changed into more appropriate clothing for our opening. We briefly planned what we were doing and things to add to our dialogue.  When we walked to the park, Kai filmed many random shots of them walking in case we needed more filler shots to add. When arriving at the park we decided to change the order of some scenes and add what we thought would make the film run smoother. We added the actors using foreshadowing about the stalker and since it rained earlier that day it added an eerie effect. Since we all have different schedules we tried to fit the most filming into today that we could. We only had about 2 hours to film because it is a school night and we couldn't go

Mayday! Mayday! There's been a change of plans.

After further speculation, we've discovered some errors with our planning and filming schedule. The previous schedule did not account for one of our group mates getting a part-time job. With this observation, we’re decided to rethink our plan and crest another schedule more appropriate for us. When taking the job hours into perspective. We reviewed some other plans we may have made on possible filming days and talk about it. We listed out all of our plans for the next few weekends and Me and Lucia are apart of the band and usually we usually have practice everyday. Our practices also run towards 6pm or even 7pm so it may be too late to film.  Meanwhile Kai is in mock trial which meets every other day. Between our activities, homework assignments and social life to judge we decided our plans for filming would have to change. During class we discussed each other our plans for during the week, our work schedule and plans for the weekend.  In class, I suggested us doing it on Thursday
