time and money not on our side
The first day of filming was sadly cut short because of the sun going down in a rapid time frame. We decided we would just film a second day to use a better sense of our time. My team and I met up in Margate once again and began working. The plan was to mainly focus on shots from the storyboard that we didn't film the first day. We had a team meeting initially and said that we would wear the same clothing to make the illusion that we filmed the music video in one day. Once we were at the fair once again our film creator Kai brought up ideas for more establishing shots and more. A new idea mentioned for the video was a capturing shot of me and the other actors waiting in lines for a ride. The shot adds to the music video's tone and emotion. The whole time filming I had to remind myself on what the song choice was and how to convey the emotion such as happiness and as carefree as possible. Since I wasn't the group member responsible for filming I did not know the best way to film the shots but once I saw Kai's end product we knew Kai made the right choice. Later on, that night when it was time to record us buying and eating food, we had run into a problem. The food carts at the fair unfortunately only took cash so we all decided to buy one plate of food and all share it. Everyone knows the fair is famously known for their funnel cakes but this time we went a different route. We all shared a plate of fried Oreos which are equally as good. After seeing the footage, it provides the audience with a sense of comfort since we are all so close and in a bonding stage. It brought a warm-hearted feeling to the video. Next up was the recording of the fair games. The games are usually very strict on when to play and most are rigged. My team and I however chose a game that each player wins every time. Since we told the worker that we were recording the scene for a project she let us all play at once. After that, we made our way to the Ferris wheel at the end of the fair. This was the last thing that needed to be filmed so we got right to work before the conditions outside got any worse. After the shots were taken, the filming process was finally complete and we made our way out of the fair. I'd say shooting the project at the fair was a wise idea since it not only embodied our song choice of "Good Days by Sza" but also allowed enjoyable days with my friends outside of school.
