The best part- music

Production has been completed and I realized I never spoke on behalf of our soundtrack for our opening sequence.  My other group members may have talked about it ealrier but it slipped my mind while editing.  Given our thriller/scary theme, it would be most appropriate to find suspenseful and eerie soundtracks to accompany our songs. I decided to research more of that feeling when looking for music. The entire premise revolves around two girls enjoying a fun reunion with an unexpected audience. The majority of the film will be cheery, but when the stalker appears, the eerie and disturbing soundtrack is employed. Because there will be a lot of dialogue throughout the movie, the background music will be lowered, but it will be heard.  Since we have dialogue during the film, it was best we had songs without lyrics.  Because many of these soundtracks are copyrighted, it's crucial to  read the descriptions before using them.  Each group member choice different s...

Movie research: Bird Box

The second movie researched was Bird Box. This movie can be watched on Netflix.  The camera angles and movements in thriller movies seem to be similar so we highlighted the important ones that added the thriller to the movie. One of the directors mentions that her favorite shot to use throughout the film was close-ups. She states that she wants viewers to “understand what’s going on in those eyes and cultivate it.” An important scene in the movie is the speech to the children, where an extreme close-up that ultimately ends up in a behind-the-shoulder shot is used. During the speech, viewers are confused as to why Sandra is so paranoid and as the close-up of her turns into a behind-the-shoulder shot we see that she is talking to children which intrigues the viewers even more. Filming Blog: Senior Patio

T oday, September 30,2021, was our first day of filming for our commercial. My group and I decided to make me one of the actors. I was skeptical at first because I tend to laugh when nervous or anxious, but it worked out in the end. I walked over to my school’s senior patio since that was the main location. I brought my prop, MacBook Air, and set it up near the staircase. Since I play student 2, I got to help get things into order and help whenever needed before my scenes. I held up our storyboard so we can shoot and perform accurate scenes. Another member in our group and I wanted to stay out of the scenes of actor 1, Lucia, so we walked off to just talk before we had to do anything. Once it was my turn to be filmed, I sat at one of the higher levels of the staircase. I began to listen to music since I had to show the computers aspect of music.
