Filming process

Today was a continuation of last classes editing. The editor, Jacob, for our project hasn’t changed but I and the other members get to help with decisions. Mostly everything was done the first day of editing and today was to perfect it. The shots have already been cut and the music is added. I oversaw the quote process with the editor. After coming up with the idea, I later suggested an editing website to find the words. “Made for you” is used often so it was easy to find and assessable. Jacob saved the quote on his computer in order to add it into IMovie. IMovie was such a good editing software especially since the whole commercial is to promote Macbooks. The quote is placed right after our zoom out shot which is one of my favorites. I loved filming and helping figure out what things to cut on that one especially because it was the finale cut. It was the shot and with the added quote makes it better. The group and I also made a collective decision to add the Apple logo. Again, finding the apple loco was easy since it is everywhere due to their amount of products. One was chosen and placed right after the quote. After seeing that, the commercial felt so complete. It really brought the ad together plus the background music. All of us watched it a couple of times and couldn’t help but bop our heads when watching. The music was playing loud enough that others in my class could hear and even they said it was good. I didn’t expect to be an actor during this project but glad i was one.

Our reviewed film!

After a month of shooting, re-filming, and editing, the project is almost complete. We're relieved and grateful that the project is almost finished. For us, the entire process of making the film was pleasant. Although some areas, such as filming, proved to be more difficulty. Our schedule gave us the most trouble because everyone was so busy. We fixed it in the end and it worked perfectly. The initial planning, storyboarding, and filming were, in our opinion, the most enjoyable aspects of the project. It gave us a lot of creative liberties and allowed for fun. Here, everyone was free to express their ideas, and we all knew what to do. The editing, on the other hand, was not as straightforward. Unfortunately, the video could only fully be edited and assembled by one of our team members. The rest of us couldn't help as much but observe and tried our best with what our groupmate was doing. Genre research: Thriller

Thriller is a genre that focuses on catching the audience's attention by inflicting suspense or anticipation. A commonly confused with the genre horror, the thriller genre is drastically different. While Horror focuses on scaring the audience and prioritizes the main confrontation as the climax thriller does otherwise. In the Thriller Genre, its main goal is to leave tension and leave the audience on edge. There are many camera angles used in the thriller genre. For example, the most common filming angles are closeups or extreme closeups, low and high angle shots, canted angle shots, wide shots, and more. What is en scene is used can drastically change a film. In thrillers typically low-level lighting, props, and little to no makeup are essential. This is to make the film more believable for the audience. To pair with believability and to add emotion when editing thriller films pacing is key. Title design (in detail)

Font: We will be using either a comic book style font such as MV Boli or Sitka Test which allows for a clean look example:  Contrast: Color- White or black Size- sizing depends on the scene and what fits Purpose- what is important for the audience to read? The different titles give the audience the idea of who did what and the production they are able to receive during the film Working title: "Unforgettable" - and will be in all caps using our designated font:  SOMETHING ALONG THESE LINES How will the titles (the words) enter and leave the screen? The titles will enter the screen and placed on different objects on the screen and disappear accordingly  How long will each title be on the screen before it disappears?
