Group blog

The assignment of a commercial seemed easy enough when presented to our group but finding the right group members can make or break your team. Like how our teachers explained it to us, we could either work together with our best friends or work in a group to complete the desired goal. I choose to do a combination of both and pick people I know but who would also complete the assignments in an orderly fashion. For the commercial, I along with Jacob Pineiro, Lucia Rodriguez, and Kia Lobann have decided to pull our heads together and work together. We hadn't known each other for a very long time but we sit beside each other in class and generally get along. We bond over things like tv shows or me and Lucia's shared hobby of reading. We are all new to film and media studies and want to do our best to pass the class and AICE exams. Without knowing much information about the class, we are all enjoying our first official project and are excited to begin.

Our plan was to divide and conquer, with everyone taking a significant role in the commercial-making process. Kia will be the lead director in charge of filming most of the action shots of the actors, Lucia and I, will be doing. Lucia and I are nowhere near qualified for this job but we will make it work to help our team. To add effects or sound will be Jacob in the editing process. Our idea is simple, but can still convey a compelling message. Pertaining to the other assignments due along with the commercial, like the storyboard, we will be assigned due to strengths. I will be doing the storyboard panels because I am fairly the best artist on the team. Lucia, who has strength for writing will be helping with any dialogue we choose to add to the ad.

The group has decided to create a commercial selling the infamous apple MacBook. Every year we see the same floating MacBook ad but not what the MacBook can do. We are going to use filming teachings we learned to take our viewers through a journey. The cameras would be almost following a student around to see their perspective. This commercial will be done in a perfect manner due to my great classmates.

We learn more when we work together instead of competing against each other
